Adding a live jazz band into our popular gangster murder-mystery game, we create a musical murder mystery in which we integrate live music with fun and action. It's full of intrigue, bribery, gambling, backstabbing and of course... a murder.
What Can We Expect?
The story line: A glitzy, well-connected (but slightly shady) couple are hosting the grand opening of their new club, and you are invited to attend. As night falls and the glamorous fun is in full swing, things may start to get a little wild...
This activity takes our 1920's based murder mystery game and adds live jazz into it, integrating a swinging band into the action. The presenters of the murder mystery, and even the guests, perform with the band as part of the show. This is a team game, with 8-10 people per team. Teams become a selection of characters and are asked to perform tasks (such as improvised performance, which is a huge amount of fun). Instructions for the game play are delivered throughout the meal, to avoid overwhelming the participants. There are always new elements emerging to consider!
Expect a colourful assortment of characters - including gangsters, politicians, the police, singers and gambler. There will be entertaining game play, improvised acting, and music of course - jazz performances integrated into the gameplay.
The winning team is decided by 3 factors:
- The amount of money accumulated
- The number of correct guesses as to who the 'murderer' is
- The quality of performance in their part of the show.
We supply:
- Party hosts – to lead the murder mystery game
- Game materials
- Character booklets with the background on each character... and their secrets
- Props, including gangster hats and 20s style head bands, fake cigars... and more
- In larger events, a sound system and microphones will be provided to assist with the improvisation
Where?
We have worked in numerous venues in differing locations, and as such we know many which are ideal for this activity - from beautiful country mansions to quirky restaurants that you can have in exclusivity. We convert them into gambling dens, dance halls and murder scenes. Any private space can basically become the ideal setting in which the different scenes play out, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.
Any venue is possible... but a private space is required with extra space for the band, and for guests to circulate.
